COMPUTER AND MOBILE DEVICES USE IN CLASSROOM (Week-7)

My students speak Bangla as their first language and learn English as their second language. I teach them Grammar Skills. They take part in the classes regularly. They are quite laborious and curious to learn English. They are fascinated with new technology application in learning because it is new to them.

My class is also called ‘’Language (Grammar) Lab’’ which is wired with internet. Students can browse and learn English in different ways. I find my students enthusiastic to use lab for their new ways of learning. I give them some online web link for language learning, like http://www.englishgrammar.org/. Students will be able to cutting age technology for learning and will be able to learn more use technology online/off-line learning.

Many students did not know about computer and internet use. They were very curious and worried at first. After a few days, they were able to use computer and develop internet in using technology for learning .They develop their autonomy of learning style.

Susan Gaer suggests a wide range of activities, is very important to have a fixed schedule http://susangaer.com/studentprojects/newspaper/spring00/. It will make the learners much more effective and proud of their activities.

Mobile devices has added a new dimension to our life and to communication system .I have a mobile devices(iphone set) and sometimes I use it in my class to show pictures and to send grammatical patterns and vocabulary also to the students and they can share with each other through mobile devices. Everyone can use mobile devices to find out the hardest words to the easiest ones.

I hope any one can apply and many of my colleagues were inspired and they applied in their class teaching.

  1. hi Mohammad,
Mobile devices can indeed be very useful when it comes to sharing and looking up new information. The downside is that they can also be a distraction. I sometimes get quite tired of seeing my students sneak peeks at their smartphones.

  3. Hi Mohammad,

You are really great. You always find a creative way to implement technology tools to your students in their learning to be more autonomous. They are very lucky, indeed. Good luck for your Language Lab. I might create this one in the future. Thanks for your experiences.
