VIDEO TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM (WEEK-8)

It is a class of 30 students. Everything is there that is demand of a class. The students are somewhat mature, so they will be able to catch the expected points given to them with technology that is video. In normal class, the teacher is delivering lecture and the students hear him but mutual co-operating, specially speaking is not growing. I think a class with video technology will help the students to know about the real situation. A class with video will clear the obscure points to the learners.

The aim of using video technology in the classroom is to make the students know. In what situation which/what language sentence, tone voice can/may/should/must be used or pronounced.

The story will be told before video displaying when the students are fully convinced hearing the story. Then video will start. They will match what they understood from hearing story with video the real show.

This video technology is not new to me; I also developed my skill in English through English Movie. I learn it from my Experience.

This technology based class will grow inquisitiveness and they will also try to imitate this type of language in their real life.

It was somewhat difficult for average students to follow the points. The video based class will bring life to them. The course details and objective was given to students. They work accordingly. The problem I faced that sometimes some computers were not working. It hampers our smooth progression. My project aim was reached 70% successful. I hope any one can apply and many of my colleagues were inspired and they applied in their class teaching.

COMPUTER AND MOBILE DEVICES USE IN CLASSROOM (Week-7)

My students speak Bangla as their first language and learn English as their second language. I teach them Grammar Skills. They take part in the classes regularly. They are quite laborious and curious to learn English. They are fascinated with new technology application in learning because it is new to them.

My class is also called ‘’Language (Grammar) Lab’’ which is wired with internet. Students can browse and learn English in different ways. I find my students enthusiastic to use lab for their new ways of learning. I give them some online web link for language learning, like http://www.englishgrammar.org/. Students will be able to cutting age technology for learning and will be able to learn more use technology online/off-line learning.

Many students did not know about computer and internet use. They were very curious and worried at first. After a few days, they were able to use computer and develop internet in using technology for learning .They develop their autonomy of learning style.

Susan Gaer suggests a wide range of activities, is very important to have a fixed schedule http://susangaer.com/studentprojects/newspaper/spring00/. It will make the learners much more effective and proud of their activities.

Mobile devices has added a new dimension to our life and to communication system .I have a mobile devices(iphone set) and sometimes I use it in my class to show pictures and to send grammatical patterns and vocabulary also to the students and they can share with each other through mobile devices. Everyone can use mobile devices to find out the hardest words to the easiest ones.

I hope any one can apply and many of my colleagues were inspired and they applied in their class teaching.

I find my students enthusiastic to use lab for their new ways of learning. I give them some online web link for language learning, like http://www.englishgrammar.org/. PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL)-WEEK -5

Project-Based Learning is the best way for the learners and the educators. Both students and teachers will be beneficiated of it, if they follow it properly. It motivates very much the learners and educators to work independently. Students get much more time to work and solve their problems and the type of product they want to tell to their teacher taught. They can also reach their teacher’s goal.

Not only in the classroom but also out of it , the students can learn much more by PBL. Teachers get a lot of things for their preparation to allow the students to drive their learning also. And the students can provide to the other people that they learnt from their teacher. In fine I would like to say that the teachers for developing themselves and for encouraging and build up the students must be helpful PBL (http://bie.org/about/what_pbl).

POPULATION PROBLEM OF BANGLADESH

Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world. It is a small country of 55598 square miles. But it has a population over 150 million. About 1500-1600 people live in one square mile. As a result, it creates food problem, communication problem, educational problem, unemployment problem, shelter problem, health problem, medical problem, environmental problem and poverty.

The population problem is a great problem for Bangladesh. To check the growth of population, top-most importance should be attached to education of the masses. If the entire population are educated, there would develop a sense of national awareness and wide outlook among them. But this can be solved if the government and the people are firmly determined to control birth and grow more food at the same time.

SERVICE RENDERED BY THE STUDENTS

Man has three duties, duty towards God, duty towards parents and duty towards mankind. So students have certain duties to the society in which they live in. Students of our country can give free service in different spheres of our national life. Most of the people of our country are illiterate. Students can open night schools and teach the illiterate people. They can remove illiteracy from our country.
Students’ service is necessary in the field of our national health. Female students can teach the uneducated women how to keep their houses neat and clean, how to bring up children and look after their health.

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Her prosperity depends on agriculture. But the farmers of our country are illiterate. They have no knowledge about scientific method of cultivation. In this case students can teach the illiterate farmers.

Bangladesh is an over populated country. Most of the village people of our country are illiterate. They are also superstitious. They have no knowledge about family planning. They are unwilling to accept family planning. In this regard, students can render a good social service. They can explain to the illiterate village people the need for adopting family planning.

During floods and cyclones, famine students stand by the affected people. Students beg money from the rich, raise funds, save the affected people, feed the hungry, nurse the sick and cloth the naked.
During epidemic medical students and other students may serve the sick with proper food, cloth, medicine and other necessary things.

Students are the servants of society. They are the makers of society. They are the soldiers of social peace. They should serve society without any selfish motive.
